Ribs and potatoes

Thoughts: so my standard is 3/4 cup light brown sugar, 1/2 cup whatever sauce is around [this one was tamarind], 1/4 cups of sriracha, rum, soy and worcestershire. marinate in a bag for a day optimally, then put the ribs in a casserole dish with all the marinade juice and bake for 1:30 at 350; dish lid on for the first hour, and last 30 no lid with the meaty side up to caramelize a little. if no tamarind, sweet baby ray's works fine.

Turkey A La King Casserole

Recipe from: Butterball
Thoughts: I loved this, great use of leftover turkey! I hadn't had nutmeg in anything but desserts besides this, and it adds a really nice flavour to the turkey.

Uh. Meat on potatoes?

Recipe from: Based off a Hellofresh
Alterations: Not meatballs
Thoughts: So the night before we do skillet beef gnocchi, husband decides to fry all the beef to save time on supper tomorrow, not realizing tomorrow's was supposed to be meatballs. This basically ended up as an upside down cottage pie. Ultimately it tasted good even if the meat wasn't balled.

Skillet Beef Gnocchi

Recipe from: CanadaBeef
Thoughts: Decent, but not quite as good as the tuscan gnocchi we often do? And very heavy, doesn't feel quite right for gnocchi. Made a note to try this on pasta instead, like a hamburger helper.

Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

Recipe from: freehanded it
Thoughts: Sometimes I crave cabbage rolls but can't be arsed to roll em. Great compromise! Cabbage, beef, rice, canned tomatoes.

Weeknight Pad Thai

Recipe from: Bon Appetit
Thoughts: I know I keep saying things are a regular here, but I love the taste of tamarind and this one's a quick and easy dish we go back to. Often if we have leftover chicken it ends up in here too.

Korean Beef And Springrolls

Recipe from: Recipe critic beef, and IndianHealthyRecipes springrolls
Thoughts: The beef is a regular here because it's a great quick and easy meal. I hadnt tried making springrolls in years and am not good at it, but these came out pretty good! I should really do them more often and actually get better!

Picadillo

Recipe from: a paper my husband has
Thoughts: We make this every now and again. The mix of the warm spices and raisins with ground beef isn't something I'd experienced in anything besides this but it works great! Black bean rice underneath adds a nice texture and carbs.

Wild Mushroom Carbonara

Recipe from: Forager Chef
Alterations: Mix of what we had [chanterelles and sweet teeth]
Thoughts: We do this recipe regularly! Probably the most cooked dish in this house. Loves it. If we don't havve bacon or ham on hand, spam works in a pinch.

Chanterelle Meatloaf

Recipe from: Wild Mushrooms, the recipe is actually given as a free preview page
Alterations: -onion, made different glaze of thyme and the drained chanterelle broth
Thoughts: This was straight up the best meatloaf I've ever had, would absolutely do again.
